Performance Evaluation of Perfo Spray Irrigation System

Title: Performance Evaluation of Perfo Spray Irrigation System
Authors: Bidkar, K. L.; Phalak, K. T.; Jadhao, P. D.
Abstract: In India both surface and ground water, are scare and its
proper utilization is must. All flow irrigation system gives about 40
to 45% efficiency. Search for, a most efficient irrigation method for
private users was studied and solution to this is, pressurized
irrigation methods. Perfo Spray System has effective use of Water,
Irrigation of steep and rolling topography without producing run-off
and erosion, Proper irrigation of shallow soils, Frequent watering
whenever needed for germination crop is possible Labor saving,
Leaching of salts from saline soils, Keeps crop free from insects and
diseases. This system operates with low pressures (5 to 15m), This
system has high application rate hence irrigation time is less and
hence more are can be irrigates by moving lateral in short time with
careful handling Useful for vegetable fields, nursery and orchards.

MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF NOISE AT SIGNALISED INTERSECTIONS

Title: MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF NOISE AT SIGNALISED INTERSECTIONS
Authors: Patil, V. K.; Nagarale, P. P.
Abstract: Most of the cities of developing countries are facing serious noise pollution problem, due to the
concentration of motor vehicles and human population within the limited urban areas. The study
presents the status of noise pollution at selected signalized intersections of Nashik city,
Maharashtra, India. The study is conducted using sound level meter and simultaneously
classified traffic volume data is collected manually. The study shows that, the noise levels at
selected locations, exceeded permissible noise level prescribed by Central Pollution Control
Board. The present study is useful for planning of road alignment, intersection, flyover, deciding
signal timings, traffic management, land use planning and to control noise pollution.

Comparative Study of Flow Measuring Devices for Low Discharge

Title: Comparative Study of Flow Measuring Devices for Low Discharge
Authors: Bidkar, K. L.; Phalak, K. T.; Jadhao, P. D.
Abstract: The wide range of flow measuring devices
are available for use in Open Channels. In absence of
guide line and recommendations, it is difficult for the
field staff to s elect a particular type of measuring
device. It is particularly more true in the case of
measuring small discharge (upto 40 lit/sec.) Therefore, a
comparative study for evaluating different types of
devices for measuring discharge upto 40 lit/sec. (lps)
was undertaken as adaptive research. Partial flume, cutthroat flume, Board creasted Weir RBC (Portable) flume
s tanding Wave flume and 90° - V Notch were selected
for the study as these are commonly used in
construction, use and maintenance, experiments were
carried out in the Open Channel. Broad Creasted Weir
(replogle) of 20 cm sill height tops the list followed by
90° V- n otch and portable standing wave Flume.

Bending Analysis of Functionally Graded Beam by Refined Theory

Title: Bending Analysis of Functionally Graded Beam by Refined Theory
Authors: Meghare, T. K.; Jadhao, P. D.
Abstract: A refined theory is applied for the flexural analysis of functionally graded beams. The present study involves four
unknown variables which are five in first order shear deformation theory or any other higher order theories. The in-plane
displacement field uses sinusoidal function in terms of thickness co-ordinate to include the shear deformation effect. The
present study satisfies the zero shear stress condition at top and bottom surfaces of plates without using shear deformation
factor. Variationally consistent governing equations and boundary conditions associated with present study are obtained
using the virtual work principle. A closed form solution is obtained using double trigonometric series suggested by Navier.
The functionally graded beam is analyzed for uniformly distributed load and linearly varying load under simply supported
condition. The results are obtained and presented graphically
