Abstract: It is predictive that the biological function exercised by the &#xD;
voice box translates a noise into intelligible expressions &#xD;
(Tomasello 1996; Hauser, Chomsky &amp; Fitch 2002; &#xD;
“Language” 1992). Representation of experience by words &#xD;
was explored at length by Gorgias and Plato in ancient &#xD;
Greece. Rousseau went on to illustrate that language stemmed &#xD;
from emotions, whereas Kant considered that language &#xD;
emerged from careful and logical thought. The structuralism &#xD;
view of language was first introduced by Ferdinand de &#xD;
Saussure (Trask 2007; Bett 2010; Devitt &amp; Sterelny 1999; &#xD;
Hauser &amp; Fitch 2003; Pinker 1994).&#xD;
Predictive analytics methods give a rough judgement that &#xD;
of the available and in-use languages a large majority are &#xD;
likely to be dead by 2100. How does it happen? Is it due to &#xD;
cultural invasion, scientific adjustment or technological &#xD;
convenience? &#xD;
It is not very difficult to prevent a language from &#xD;
disintegrating or becoming endangered. Desire of a &#xD;
community to conserve its language has numerous options &#xD;
available. Take for example Modern Hebrew which was &#xD;
revived after generations modified and adaptable to the &#xD;
present requirements.</description>

Abstract: This research work has been undertaken with the aim of analysing &#xD;
the Indian Representation of People’s Act, 1951 with specific reference to &#xD;
election to upper and lower houses of the parliament and upper house and &#xD;
lower house of the states, registration of political parties, methodology of &#xD;
filling up casual vacancies, timing of elections and introducing judicial powers &#xD;
for the Election Commission of India. The People’s Representative Act, 1951 &#xD;
with its amendments have withstood the test of time and has been able to carve &#xD;
out the reputation of being one of the better ways of ensuring democratic rights &#xD;
of the citizens of a country. The findings will give an insight on to the &#xD;
relevance of practicable methods for conducting elections in India. It may serve &#xD;
as inputs for further research work improving efficiency and ensuring &#xD;
transparency in elections.</description>

Abstract: The comparison of pre and post Covid-19&#xD;
performance is now being made in many areas. The&#xD;
invisible enemy in the form of Covid-19 virus has put a&#xD;
sturdy impact on many sectors and has forced these sectors&#xD;
to change their mode of operation. Education sector is the&#xD;
most affected sector due to this pandemic. Teachers have&#xD;
adapted to the online teaching methodology through&#xD;
various e-platforms. Feedback collected from the teachers&#xD;
suggested that most of the teachers are facing the problem&#xD;
of engaging the students effectively during the online&#xD;
lectures. Also it is challenging to ensure that students have&#xD;
acquired all knowledge levels as per Bloom's Taxonomy&#xD;
during online learning.&#xD;
A study was undertaken wherein 200 students were&#xD;
randomly divided into four equal groups. Online lectures&#xD;
on the same topic by the same instructor were arranged for&#xD;
every group. A different methodology of content delivery&#xD;
namely a) explanation by display of textual information, b)&#xD;
use of pictures, c) use of video content and d) use of&#xD;
numerical examples based on different learning styles&#xD;
reported in the literature. At the end of the lectures,&#xD;
students were assigned six questions corresponding to each&#xD;
level of the Bloom’s Taxonomy.&#xD;
The student responses were mapped and analyzed. The&#xD;
ranking of groups has been calculated using Technique for&#xD;
Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution&#xD;
(TOPSIS). It shows that group number four where text,&#xD;
picture at low level and video, numerical at high level has&#xD;
first rank with score of 0.350. The Pearson correlation&#xD;
between the groups was also determined. The correlation&#xD;
indicates that there is a positive correlation between group&#xD;
two and group four that means a combination of pictures,&#xD;
video and numerical at high level may leads to better&#xD;
results.&#xD;
This result can be useful for teachers to finding the&#xD;
most effective proportion of content type to map various&#xD;
levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and thereby improve the&#xD;
learning performance of students during online teaching.</description>

Abstract: Objective: Employability skills and&#xD;
placements are extremely important for any technical&#xD;
institute. Analysis of strengths, weakness,&#xD;
opportunities and challenges (SWOC) helps to make&#xD;
informed decisions on the inputs received from the&#xD;
stakeholders. The purpose of this paper is to identify&#xD;
the SWOC of training and placement cell of a&#xD;
technical institute, undertake initiatives based on the&#xD;
SWOC analysis and determine the impact of these&#xD;
initiatives.&#xD;
Methodology: IT tools like Google form were&#xD;
designed and employed to carry out the SWOC&#xD;
analysis. This Google form was sent to the students&#xD;
and responses were obtained from 1087 students. The&#xD;
students responses were grouped under strengths,&#xD;
weaknesses, opportunities and challenges and then&#xD;
segregated under five sub categories namely - institute&#xD;
and infrastructure; staff; teaching and learning;&#xD;
training / placement activities and mechanism or&#xD;
policies for improvement. Based on the SWOC&#xD;
analysis, certain initiatives were undertaken to&#xD;
overcome the weakness and to explore the&#xD;
opportunities. These initiatives have been mapped&#xD;
with the SWOC are analysed to determine the impact.&#xD;
To remain within the scope of this paper, data related initiatives undertaken and outcome of these initiatives&#xD;
is being carried out. The outcome of this study will&#xD;
help the Management, Principal and other senior&#xD;
faculty in developing appropriate strategies for&#xD;
enhancing the employability skills and placements.</description>
