Abstract: - In India, engineering courses are the most preferred choices for education. Although this area has shown some decline in the enrolment rate since the last few years, statistics reveal that engineers still continue to top the employability chart as compared to the other professional courses. However, a survey suggests that around 80% of the engineering graduates are not employable. The percentage of Indian engineers possessing necessary technical skills required by the industry is still in single digit. Some of the reasons responsible for this scenario include the curriculum, less industry exposure, inadequate technical and soft skills and lack of industry-institute interaction. Therefore sweeping changes are required in the field of technical education. Achieving these changes is a mammoth task and requires coordinated efforts from all stakeholders. Every stakeholder needs to contribute to this noble task. This paper aims to analyse the role of all stakeholders in the Indian engineering education system and provide suggestions for improving the inter-communication amongst stakeholders and enhancing the level of the engineering education. This study will help every stakeholder to understand their role in the engineering education system and how best can he/she contribute in the overall development process
