Abstract

t Application Program Interface (API) allows programmers to use predefined functions instead of writing them from scratch. Description of API elements is provided through API Reference Documentation. Hence API Reference Documentation acts as a guide to user or developer to use API’s. The work focuses on a study of the nature and organization of Knowledge contained in the reference documentation of the hundreds of API’s provided as part of Java technology platform. Also, it involves the development of a classification of Knowledge automatically into Knowledge Types. And then classifying API Reference Documents according to the Knowledge Types.
